Character/Kit Designer

Summary

Join Escape Velocity as a Character or Kit Designer to design the movement, camera, abilities, and combat rhythm of our game. Collaborate with animators, programmers, and other teams to prototype and implement features, taking designs from concept to release. Use metrics and player feedback to refine designs. Requirements

• Experience as a Character or Kit Designer on multiple titles for at least 2 years
• Experienced with visual scripting languages (Blueprint, Node Graphs, and so on)
• You have a passion for, and a deep understanding of, third-person mechanics and have thoroughly played a wide variety of different titles
• You like working with hands-on prototypes
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the player's mechanics, weapons, kit and abilities
• Work closely with animators, gameplay programmers, and other teams to prototype and implement features
• Take designs through a full development cycle from concept to release
• Use metrics, player feedback, and a multitude of diverse analytics to improve and refine the design
