Requirements

• 10+ years of senior financial leadership experience (CFO, VP Finance, or similar) in a high-growth environment
• Deep expertise in financial planning, fundraising, and capital strategy
• Experience managing P&L, budgeting, risk, and financial compliance
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
• Experience working closely with CEOs, boards, and investors
• Strong grasp of operational processes and cross-functional leadership
• A passion for mission-driven innovation in life sciences, biotech, or health technology

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategy to support RefinedScience’s growth and mission
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management
• Lead capital strategy and fundraising efforts, including investor relations, venture financing, and financial partnerships
• Ensure compliance, accounting, and tax optimization, working with auditors and regulatory bodies
• Manage financial reporting, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders
• Drive cost efficiency and financial discipline, optimizing company resources while supporting innovation
• Oversee and improve business operations, processes, and scalability strategies
• Ensure operational alignment across finance, HR, legal, commercial and technology functions
• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to refine and execute company strategy and key initiatives
• Manage key vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and operational risk mitigation
• Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and mission alignment
• Define and drive achievement of KPIs and OKRs for operational success

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling a venture-backed or pre-IPO company
• Background in M&A, IPO readiness, or private financing
• Experience in clinical research, biotech, or healthcare financial models
• Familiarity with AI, data-driven healthcare solutions, or digital health business models
• Strong knowledge of SaaS or biotech operational frameworks
