Summary

Join the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for a Fall 2025 Civic Engagement & Voter Protection Internship! This hybrid internship runs from September 8 to November 14, 2025, offering hands-on experience in Democratic politics. Interns will work 20 hours per week and receive a $3,000 stipend (housing not provided). The program focuses on expanding voting access and combating voter suppression through research, event organization, and hotline management. Applicants must be 18 or older and meet specific eligibility criteria, including current or recent enrollment in a college program or veteran status. The application deadline is August 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship and meet at least one of the following criteria
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution). It is highly recommended that applicants complete at least one full term prior to submitting an application
  • Graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution) no more than two years before the first day of the internship
  • A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the internship
  • Applicants must meet all of the following criteria
  • Commitment of 20 hours per week during the program
  • Physically present in the United States to participate in this internship program
  • Writing sample
  • Cover letter

  • The DNC requires all employees to be "up to date" on COVID-19 vaccination status as prescribed by the CDC as a condition of employment, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law. Responsibilities

  • Attend mandatory onboarding/offboarding sessions
  • Conduct research
  • Draft memos
  • Organize events
  • Assist the Civic Engagement & Voter Protection team with managing our year-round Voter Hotline
  • Develop the Civic Engagement & Voter Protection team’s online and social media presence
  • Manage our volunteer efforts
  • Speak to voters nationwide through our year-round Voter Hotline

J.D. students are preferred but not required
