Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar applicable work experience is required
  • 5+ years of experience in design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD and/or Civil3D
  • Proficiency in the creation of civil land development sheet sets including grading, site drainage, and access road design
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Efficient time management – handle multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision including prioritizing, organizing, and planning effectively to meet all deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Create site layouts and civil land development design sheet sets in AutoCAD/Civil 3D for utility and commercial scale renewable energy projects
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes
  • Lead multiple projects
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard procedures, and criteria
  • Prepare project documentation including scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Support client interaction for multiple projects
  • May act as Engineer of Record
  • Assign tasks to and direct less experienced team members to complete assignments
  • Assist with proposals to provide professional services
  • Provide mentoring for staff engineers
  • Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments with high proficiency and confidence
  • Receive guidance, when necessary, on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
  • Receive a review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment
  • Perform essential duties including meeting deliverables and deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Civil Engineering licensure or EIT is preferred
  • Prior renewable energy project experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of GIS software tools desirable
