Claims Technician II

Summary

Join the Central California Alliance for Health as a Temporary Claims Technician II! We are seeking 10 temporary employees to support claims processing, with 5 starting in January. A month-long training program is required, working Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role is remote and can be located anywhere in California. Employment will be through a temporary agency. The assignment length depends on business needs. This is a temporary position and does not include all the benefits listed in the job description.

Requirements

• Knowledge of: Medical insurance Explanation of Benefits
• Knowledge of: General office equipment, including personal computer, telephone, photocopier, fax, etc
• Knowledge of: Windows-based PC systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to: Understand current software programs and screens that are required in the daily processing of claims
• Ability to: Keep current on claims processing practices and procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent and two years (or an Associate’s degree and a minimum of one/two years) of relevant experience with claims processing in an automated claim environment; or a combination of education and relevant experience may be qualifying

Responsibilities

• Verify, process, and/or adjudicate claims, including applying detailed consideration, standards in pending and releasing claims from pend edits and for proper application of program policy related to claim entry and analysis
• Assists with training new hires and cross-training other Claims Technicians
