Summary
Join iMedX as a Full-time Clinical Data Abstract Specialist! You will perform data collection, analysis, and reporting of patient outcomes using core measures abstraction as required by TJC and/or CMS. This role involves identifying data variances and quality improvement opportunities, promoting core measures education and compliance, and working with both TJC and CMS standards. Experience with Cardiac and Trauma Registries and related certifications is a plus. The position requires strong data collection skills focused on core measures (HEDIS experience is not sufficient). You will be responsible for abstracting, analyzing, and tracking data, identifying quality improvement opportunities, and providing consultation and reports to clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to work independently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Credentialed professional (RN, BNS, MSN)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum of two yearsโ core measure abstracting experience
- Experience in health care quality measure specification development activities
- Understands data collection technology tools data transmission to third-party agencies
- Demonstrates PC proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exhibits adaptability, high degree of customer service skills, displays sense of confidence, maintains enthusiasm and a sense of urgency towards work
- Accepts responsibility and accountability willingly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, works well under time constraints and excellent eye for detail
Responsibilities
- Abstract, collect and transmit data for IP and OP Core Measure sets, Sepsis and/or GWTG following the specifications of TJC and CMS
- Analyze and track data to ensure consistent quality compliance with all core measure indicators
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement and efficient managed care
- Lead process improvement through sharing and implementation of ideas
- Provide consultation and prepare and present physician reports to clients regarding data findings
- Provide staff education relating to externally reported measurements
- Refer questions to the Director of RCM Operations in a timely manner for feedback
- Meet productivity standards set by manager per specific account type
- Remain current with the national agenda for quality
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguards the privacy of protected health information (PHI)
- Promote the Companyโs values
- Performs other job related duties as may be assigned or required
- Maintains flexibility and positive attitude regarding Client changing priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific registry certifications
- Experience with Cardiac and Trauma Registries
