Summary

Join Chamberlain University as a Visiting Professor and share your expertise with our undergraduate and graduate nursing students. This part-time, course-by-course position offers the opportunity to teach online courses in advanced clinical diagnosis and practice. You will develop and deliver engaging course materials, utilizing technology to enhance the learning experience. The ideal candidate possesses a MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing), significant clinical experience as an FNP, and a minimum of 1-2 years of online graduate-level teaching experience. Compensation is competitive and varies based on experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required
  • A minimum of 1-2 years online teaching experience at the graduate level is required
  • Must have an active unencumbered compact RN nursing license (multi-state)
  • FNP certification required
  • Clinical experience as FNP required
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
  • Must be willing to obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Online teaching experience - highly preferred

Benefits

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience
