Summary

Join eyeo's Cloud and Data Platform team as a Platform Engineering Lead and drive the evolution of our data processing platform. You will provide technical leadership and contribute directly to enhancing platform performance and streamlining processes. Responsibilities include designing and building cloud and data platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing platforms from concept to deprecation, and implementing data accuracy strategies. Leadership responsibilities involve talent development, building a positive team culture, and identifying process improvements. Requirements

  • Experience translating (data) strategy into scalable, fault-tolerant architectures
  • Experience with cloud services (ideally Google Cloud), including managing infrastructure with Terraform
  • Familiarity with different approaches to data architecture (warehouse, lake, mesh, batch vs streaming, ETL vs ELT, etc.) and how they can be leveraged in different use cases
  • Experience with Python and Bash for scripting and automation
  • Experience with common data libraries and platforms such as Airflow, PySpark, Pandas, etc
  • Expertise with SQL queries and query optimization, ideally in BigQuery
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (ideally in GitLab)
  • Passion about introducing engineering best practices, for instance to ensure testability, data quality and completeness, etc
  • Some leadership experience, for example mentoring other team members as a senior engineer, or having led a team before
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both with engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design and build cloud and data platforms, endpoints and pipelines that meet business requirements and enable stakeholders to make more data-driven decisions, without losing track of technical quality and maintainability
  • Actively collaborate with teams across all of eyeo (like browser extension developers, data analysts and legal counsels) to design data collection systems that are compliant with regulations and respect user privacy
  • Actively collaborate with teams across all of eyeo (like browser extension and mobile application developers) to design platforms that enable them to be as effective as possible, like our own GitLab runners
  • Manage platforms and software from proof-of-concept to deployment, operation, and finally deprecation; and manage data through ingestion, access, schema changes and deletion
  • Implement strategies to ensure that data is accurate, complete, timely and consistent
  • Contribute to ongoing management of our platforms, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues
  • Managing contracts with service providers such as Google, GitLab and CloudFlare
  • Develop talent through onboarding, mentoring, coaching, feedback and hands-on career development. Encourage and celebrate the learnings and successes of your people
  • Build a team culture that is collaborative, inclusive and respectful
  • Identify, design and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, simplifying collaboration with data analysts, etc
  • Maintain a balance between building high-quality technology, preventing technical debt, and predictable and frequent delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Go
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Experience working in globally distributed, cross-functional teams (our team has members in the CET and ET time zones)
  • Familiarity with the ad tech sector
