Cloud Data Architect

Summary

The job is for a remote, short-term data architect position at Sand Cherry Associates. The role requires 5-7 years of experience in cloud data architecture, proficiency in using Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Databricks, and strong skills in data modeling and logic. The candidate should also have experience with ETL and ELT tools, excellent scripting and programming skills, and be able to communicate effectively with clients.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in cloud data architecture
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Databricks
• Proven ability to write SQL code and have familiarity with SQL server
• Proficiency in ETL and ELT tools and techniques including Azure Data Factory
• Excellent scripting and programming skills including Python and R
• Proven ability to work with team members in a robust BI environment
• Proven ability to communicate with clients at any level

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, structure, and maintenance of data, usually organized in relational databases
• Determines end user requirements for data usage including analytics and visualization
• Ensures the accuracy and accessibility of data relevant to client’s organization or project
• Identifies and creates connections to relevant data sources from within the organization as well as third party sources including government data sources
• Assists in defining how data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities
• Assesses existing data architecture and data management processes to determine gaps and means of optimization
• Creates vision and documents resource requirements for organizational structure to support all phases of client data initiatives
• Supports BI reporting and analytic requirements including GIS data visualization
• Defines supplemental data collection methods including manual survey processes as necessary
• Defines user access models for internal and public models and techniques to allow user inquiry and presentation of quantitative and visual findings from data analytics

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare experience highly preferred
