Summary

Join Experian as a Cloud Data Security Engineer to contribute to the launch of our Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) program. You will play a key role in strengthening our security posture, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring compliance. Responsibilities include implementing security measures within the DSPM program, operationalizing data governance, participating in security audits, and collaborating with various teams to integrate data defense principles. You will also work with the Cyber Threat Intelligence team and champion a culture of security awareness. This role reports to the Director of Cloud Security and offers the ability to work remotely.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, data security, or IT infrastructure
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of DSPM, data encryption, access control, and security monitoring tools
  • Industry Cloud Certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP)
  • Familiarity with relevant data protection regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA
  • Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (Jenkins, Git, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with assessment, development, and documentation of a broad set of security technologies and processes (secure software development (Application Security), data protection, cryptography, management, identity and access management (IAM), network security) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments
  • Certifications like CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of security measures within our DSPM program to enhance data visibility and protection
  • Operationalize data governance including data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, and access controls in the cloud
  • Participate in security audits, and monitoring to identify potential risks
  • Work with the Cyber Threat Intelligence team to translate structured threat intelligence into prioritized threat scenarios, informing the engineering backlog and data defense strategies
  • Work with cloud security teams to implement security frameworks across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid infrastructures
  • Collaborate with departments and data owners to identify and document data flows, usage patterns, and access controls for sensitive data
  • Work with teams including software development, operations, and IT, to integrate data defense principles into the broader security strategy
  • Champion a culture of security awareness, providing training and best practices for teams across the organization
