Summary
Join AccuWeather as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and play a vital role in ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure. This fully remote position, available to US and Canadian residents, requires collaboration with stakeholders to design, develop, and support integrated cloud solutions. You will focus on business continuity and disaster recovery, analyzing existing implementations, planning deployments, optimizing performance and security, and automating tasks. Proactive problem-solving, initiative, and staying current with industry trends are essential. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to AccuWeather's success.
Requirements
- Proven experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
- Relevant cloud certifications or ability to obtain them within 6 months of hire
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure engineering
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with MS Windows, Linux, and databases
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and Azure
- Analyze and review existing cloud implementations to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and developers to understand data processing requirements and plan deployments
- Develop and implement comprehensive BCDR solutions to ensure business continuity
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of cloud environments
- Automate cloud infrastructure tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts
- Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues in a timely manner
- Take initiative and be self-sufficient in achieving business goals
- Coordinate with developers, security, networking, and other IT professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices
