Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

Join M-KOPA's Analytics Department as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and contribute to our mission of digital and financial inclusion. This fully remote role (UTC -1 / UTC+3) involves automating and maintaining our Azure-based infrastructure, supporting CI/CD and DevOps practices, and collaborating with a team of four engineers. You will work with Azure Kubernetes Service and transition legacy IaaS assets to modern infrastructure. The position requires strong experience in infrastructure engineering and Azure Cloud, a DevOps mentality, and experience with infrastructure-as-code. Requirements

• Have strong experience working as an Infrastructure engineer
• Have good experience working with Azure Cloud
• Have a strong DevOps mentality
• Have an orientation towards efficient cross-team collaboration and communication to ensure eliminating bottlenecks and enabling a broad team of software engineers to deliver value based on a robust shared infrastructure/processes
• Have experience with infrastructure-as-code and an understanding in its value

Responsibilities

• Automate and maintain M-KOPA’s infrastructure for application hosting and integration
• Support teams in CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Support our services using Microsoft Azure, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service
• Support transitions of some IaaS legacy assets towards modern infrastructure
• Be responsible for our shared cloud infrastructure, including all operational aspects including observability, updates automation, capacity management, compliance & security, etc
• Collaborate with backend developers to empower them to manage most of the infrastructure work (e.g. CI/CD, resource scaling, observability, etc.), and assist where needed
