Cloud Security Research Engineer in Philippines

Summary

Horangi - A Bitdefender Company is seeking motivated Cloud Security Engineers to analyze cloud infrastructure, identify security gaps, and encode security insights into their security product. The role involves analyzing cloud infrastructure data across top providers, identifying security misconfigurations, building rules for the cloud engine, creating remediation solutions using NodeJS and Terraform, and participating in agile development with a team of product managers, engineers, and cybersecurity specialists.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps or building in the Cloud
• Good understanding of how various cloud services work for at least one of the Cloud Service Providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud or Alibaba Cloud
• Strong understanding of cloud security concepts (IAM, policies, security groups etc)
• Understanding the risk of having a publicly accessible data bucket and the impact when exploited
• Comfortable coding with Python
• Strong interest in emerging cloud technologies, the latest cyber security trends and vulnerabilities
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience

Responsibilities

• Analyze cloud infrastructure data across top cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud and Alibaba Cloud)
• Identify security misconfigurations and weaknesses in production cloud infrastructure
• Encode security inspection and build rules within our cloud engine
• Create remediation solutions for cloud vulnerabilities using NodeJS and Terraform
• Participate in our agile development with a nimble team of product managers, engineers, and cybersecurity specialists
• Make critical decisions based on security best practices and standards, cloud provider characteristics, and various stakeholders’ requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant cloud certification is a strong bonus
• Relevant Information security certifications, e.g. CCSP, OSCP, CISSP, SANS
• Experience with compliance standards and guidelines, e.g. ISO27001, CIS, SOC2
