Join Distinguished Programs, a leading national insurance Program Manager, as a Commercial Lines Underwriter specializing in Real Estate Umbrella Programs. You will be responsible for pipeline management, risk selection, qualification, and pricing within program guidelines, working directly with brokers and carriers. This role involves ensuring accurate underwriting information, determining eligibility, and maintaining well-documented insurance files. You will also support the Product Manager, gather market intelligence, manage the renewal list, and provide solutions for inquiries. The position requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, along with a minimum of 5 years of commercial general liability underwriting experience. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of commercial general liability insurance underwriting experience, commercial umbrella highly preferred
- Property and Casualty insurance license required (6 months preparation time permitted)
- Analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills
- Must be self-driven, detail oriented, and possess strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization
- Some travel may be required from time to time for team and broker meetings
Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally and effectively with our broker customers and sales staff on renewal business including midterm servicing, within authority
- Support the Product Manager with administration and monitoring of underwriting processes, guidelines and applications
- Evaluate submissions to ensure proper risk selection, premium and coverage
- Adhere to rating rules with proper file documentation
- Gather competitor information, market intelligence, and understand trends to identify opportunities for improvements to products and pricing
- Manage renewal list to maximize policy retention
- Provide and create solutions for a broad range of inquiries from brokers and team members
- Monitor data entry and processing to ensure data integrity
- Communicates with insurance brokers to obtain information needed to underwrite risks, respond to questions and address issues
- Develop relationships with both external and internal customers
- Promote teamwork and organizational success, while accepting accountability and ownership, celebrating successes and learning from past mistakes
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience with every interaction, in all modes of communication
- Identify opportunities to improve underwriting efficiencies
- Successfully complete Peer/Self Audits every month
- Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders
- Participate in other company projects and new initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial Real Estate knowledge and experience preferred

- $75,000 - $90,000 base salary plus bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location
