Summary
Join our leading recruiting agency in New York City as a remote freelance Contract Attorney specializing in contract law. You will provide expert legal counsel to our diverse clientele, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts. This role requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, an active New York State law license, and at least 5 years of contract law experience. You will work independently, managing multiple projects, and maintaining excellent communication with clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation and communication skills, along with experience working with various industries and familiarity with legal research tools. This is a contract/remote position.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in New York State
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in contract law, with a proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex contracts
- Expertise in contract law and related legal issues
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with legal research tools and contract management software
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and client-focused approach
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise a wide range of contracts, including business agreements, vendor contracts, and employment contracts
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and third parties to secure favorable conditions and resolve disputes
- Provide expert legal advice on contract-related matters, including compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Identify and assess potential legal risks associated with contract terms and provide recommendations for mitigation
- Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all legal documents and communications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with clients in various industries
- Previous freelance or contract-based legal work experience
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards
