Summary
Join Walden University as a Faculty Member and contribute to educating students online. You will utilize online technology and resources to effectively impart knowledge and provide feedback. Responsibilities include grading assignments, participating in discussions, responding to student emails, and using technology to enhance the learning experience. Successful candidates will possess an earned doctorate, teaching experience, and relevant professional experience. Walden University provides comprehensive training and support for new faculty members. Compensation varies based on factors such as course type, experience, and location. Opportunities for additional work, such as dissertation committee chair positions, are also available.
Requirements
- Be appropriately credentialed
- Work currently as a FNP
- Possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught
- Be licensed or license-eligible in order to teach in specific programs
- Provide evidence of current RN and APRN license in the state of Arizona
- Obtain RN and APRN licensure in the state of Minnesota and provide evidence of current Advanced Practice certification before being hired as a Nurse Practitioner Faculty at Walden University
- Earned Doctorate
- A record of professional scholarly contributions to their field of specialization
- A minimum of one year experience of teaching in higher education
- Current clinical experience in NP practice
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, team, collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Board Certified FNP
Responsibilities
- Educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications
- Grade assignments
- Participate in discussions
- Respond to student emails
- Use technology designed to enhance the learning experience for students
- Interact with students within Blackboard
- Be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/wk and responses to student questions must be posted within 48 hrs
- Maintain their licenses and any appropriate certifications in order to continue to teach at Walden University
- Maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations
- If participating in research, the Faculty Member may publish and acknowledge Walden University
- Fully participate in the event when traveling to university events and residencies
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience, preferred online teaching experience, but not required
Benefits
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- This position may be eligible for bonus upon hire
