Summary
Join Walden University as a Faculty Member and contribute to educating students online. Faculty members utilize online technology and resources to effectively impart knowledge and provide feedback. New faculty receive training in online teaching techniques, the university's learning platform, and Walden's culture. Requirements
- Earned Doctorate
- A record of professional scholarly contributions to their field of specialization
- A minimum of one year experience of teaching in higher education
- Current clinical experience in NP practice
- Board Certified FNP
- Evidence of current RN and APRN license in te state of Arizona is required
- All NP Faculty are also required to obtain RN and APRN licensure in the state of Minnesota and provide evidence of current Advanced Practice certification before being hired as a Nurse Practitioner Faculty at Walden University
Responsibilities
- Educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications
- Grade assignments
- Participate in discussions
- Respond to student emails
- Use technology designed to enhance the learning experience for students
- Teach courses using Blackboard
- Interact with students within Blackboard
- Be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/wk
- Post responses to student questions within 48 hrs
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience, preferred online teaching experience, but not required
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment
- Excellent oral and written communication, leadership, team, collaboration and interpersonal skills
Benefits
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Walden also offers other opportunities for its contributing faculty members, such as dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring
