Contributing Writer

Summary

Join The Escapist as a remote contract writer to contribute to our Pokemon coverage. We are seeking talented writers with excellent English skills and a passion for media. This is a fully remote position offering payment per article, with rates varying based on length and location. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong writing skills through submitted samples and possess a deep understanding of Pokemon. While experience with SEO and social media is preferred, it's not mandatory. The Escapist is part of GAMURS Group, a supportive and growing network of gaming websites.

Requirements

• Possess excellent English language writing skills
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn and incorporate feedback
• Be a self-starter capable of completing assignments independently
• Have a strong knowledge of Pokemon
• Submit a resume
• Submit a cover letter mentioning what Pokemon games you play
• Submit two writing samples demonstrating your ability to write on Pokemon-related topics

Responsibilities

• Write articles about Pokemon for The Escapist website
• Complete writing assignments in a timely manner
• Pitch trending ideas for articles

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Trends
• Experience writing SEO content
• Fluency in social media platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, etc
• Availability on weekends
