You will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, create financial forecasts, and advise the executive team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 7+ years of accounting experience is required
  • Experience as a senior level accounting or finance manager required
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to financially manage multi-state operations
  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance, and other regulatory matters
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with peers
  • Highly developed multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to work in high stress situations
  • Highly developed sense of urgency and a commitment to superior customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills, including ability to develop and grow a team
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (or related software), accounting software; modern β€œCloud Based ERP” experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advisor in finance and accounting matters to the executive team for strategic planning purposes
  • Develop department strategy and goals that align with business objectives
  • Create forecast models as part of the organization’s planning efforts
  • Identify, innovate and implement business processes that improve the department's efficiency and capacity to scale
  • Manage all sides of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll, commissions, and cost accounting
  • Provide strong leadership to the accounting department, to include development and performance conversations
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain reporting systems for financial budgeting, and forecasting
  • Prepare for and conduct various types of audits including but not limited to financial, systems, tax, and compliance
  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Ensure all state tax and licensing requirements are adhered to, and maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Work with third party vendors to mitigate organization risk
  • Provide effective communication with internal and external entities
  • Operate with a high level of urgency and maximize productivity in the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) is highly preferred
  • Experience working with a Private Equity Propco preferred
