Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience as a controller with a focus in revenue cycle management, and at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in ABA, at minimum in mental healthcare services
  • Understanding of correct coding principles CPT/HCSPCS and modifier selection as well as CCI edits and billing guidelines
  • Proficient in using RCM software and financial management systems, Central Reach preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, billing procedures, and compliance requirements
  • A strong process thinker with an ability to translate complex operations into a clear and easily understandable process
  • Multi-site and multi-state experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a small team of FPA analysts, accountants, payroll specialists, and revenue cycle managers
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their professional development goals
  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Manage a Revenue Cycle Manager and team responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle management process, including billing, collections, and reimbursement analysis
  • Optimize revenue cycle workflows to maximize collections and minimize revenue leakage
  • Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance and maximize revenue opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including GAAP, HIPAA, and other industry-specific requirements
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective internal controls and risk management strategies
  • Partner with senior department leadership to develop and execute strategic financial plans that support the organization's growth objectives
  • Evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and process improvement
