Corporate Accountant

Summary

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting / finance / business
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in accounting
• Working knowledge of cloud-based bookkeeping and other accounting software
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statement accounts
• A self-starter who has the ability to work autonomously
• Ability to structure thinking in a logical manner and clearly communicate ideas

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting including month-end close procedures
• Review operating expenses to ensure proper classification and cut-off
• Perform daily account reconciliations
• Posting journal entries as needed
• Assisting with payroll processing
• Assisting the management team in annual financial statement audits
• Assisting in the preparation of weekly and monthly financial results
• Doing other fun things accountants do and various miscellaneous tasks to assist the finance team
• Regulatory report preparation

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or successful completion of CFE
• A working knowledge of IFRS and financial modelling
• Busy season experience in external audit
• Experience using Netsuite
