Summary

Join Chamberlain University as a Visiting Professor and share your expertise with undergraduate and graduate students. This part-time, course-by-course position involves teaching online courses in Sociology, focusing on Culture and Society. You will develop and deliver course materials, utilize online technologies, and provide timely feedback to students. The ideal candidate possesses a PhD or Master's degree in a relevant social science field and at least 15 credit hours of online teaching experience. Requirements

  • PhD or masters degree with a major in Sociology, Social Work, Social Science, American studies, Gender studies, or Ethnics required
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Chamberlain University syllabus that follows a template and includes the terminal course objectives
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students
  • Completes other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Preferred Qualifications

Have at least 15-credit hours of online higher education teaching experience (highly preferred)

Benefits

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience
