Requirements
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Masterβs program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis
- Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to Canada
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security systems, networks, and applications to detect and mitigate threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and resolve security weaknesses
- Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including analyzing root causes and implementing solutions
- Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to strengthen defenses
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant credentials
