Join HeadQuarters, a global start-up, as an HR and Finance Data Analyst supporting a major US cannabis client. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Human Resources, Data Analytics, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in HR data analysis, financial analysis, or data analytics roles, ideally with experience supporting both HR and finance functions
- Strong understanding of financial statements, compensation analysis, workforce planning, and HR metrics
- Proven experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis with an understanding of HR-related costs
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex HR and financial data and present actionable insights
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to both HR and finance stakeholders at all levels
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to long-term planning and decision-making
Responsibilities
- Analyze HR-related data, including headcount, turnover, recruitment, compensation, and benefits, to identify trends, issues, and opportunities
- Support the HR team in workforce planning, organizational design, and employee engagement analysis
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and provide recommendations based on market data
- Analyze employee performance data and provide insights on training needs, promotions, and succession planning
- Perform financial analysis for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, with a focus on HR-related expenses (e.g., payroll, benefits)
- Develop and maintain financial models that support HR budgets and compensation plans
- Provide financial insights to optimize the allocation of resources within HR and other departments
- Prepare regular financial reports for HR and finance leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities
- Build and maintain integrated dashboards and reports that link HR and financial data, enabling cross-functional insights
- Utilize tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence platforms to create interactive data visualizations
- Create data models that merge HR and financial data, providing holistic insights into workforce costs, compensation structures, and overall business performance
- Collaborate with HR, finance, and operations teams to ensure the accuracy and alignment of HR and financial data
- Provide data-driven insights to support compensation planning, headcount forecasting, and budget allocation
- Work closely with senior management to develop financial forecasts and budgets that incorporate HR-related costs
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline HR and finance data reporting
- Support the HR and finance teams with automation tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities
- Leverage HRIS systems and financial software to improve data integration and workflow efficiency
- Provide ad-hoc analysis on various HR and finance initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, employee retention strategies, and financial scenario planning
- Assist in high-level strategic projects that require data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA, SHRM) are a plus
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SuccessFactors) and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is preferred
- Strong SQL skills or experience with data querying and manipulation is a plus
