Join Brillio as a Data Architect / Senior Data Modeler to lead the design and implementation of a Transaction Hub, a centralized real-time operational data store. This high-visibility role involves partnering with stakeholders, designing and implementing a transactional data model, building a scalable architecture, and collaborating with engineering teams. You will lead data modeling efforts, evaluate data storage, and communicate architectural decisions to executive leadership. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in data architecture, real-time systems, and relational and non-relational databases. This is a remote position, preferably in the U.S., offering an immediate start date.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and enterprise data modeling, with a strong understanding of real-time operational systems
  • Proven track record in designing transactional data models for complex, event-driven workflows
  • Expertise in both relational (Azure SQL, SQL Server) and non-relational (MongoDB, etc.) database technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory
  • Solid experience with event-driven architectures and real-time data ingestion mechanisms
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management and source system transitions (e.g., from legacy to Salesforce)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior business and technical leaders
  • Experience working in high-velocity environments with shifting priorities and evolving requirements

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders (Payments, Servicing, Data Teams) to understand transaction lifecycle workflows and data requirements
  • Design and implement a centralized transaction data model that captures real-time status changes across payment processors (e.g., Stripe, FIS) and internal systems
  • Build a scalable, modular, and future-proof architecture that can evolve with changing data sources and business processes
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure real-time data ingestion, processing, and persistence in appropriate operational data stores (e.g., Azure SQL, MongoDB, Synapse, Databricks)
  • Lead data modeling efforts, including conceptual, logical, and physical model development and documentation
  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for structured and semi-structured data
  • Implement data modeling tools and techniques such as ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, or equivalent
  • Evaluate and recommend optimal data storage and architecture patterns that support both current and future-state requirements
  • Interface with executive leadership to communicate architectural decisions, roadmap alignment, and progress updates
  • Support adjacent data initiatives such as Customer Hub (operational MDM) and Dealer Hub (legacy sunset and Salesforce integration)

Benefits

  • $125,000 - $135,000 a year
  • Remote work
