Summary
Join us as a Data Architect and be responsible for designing the blueprint of the entire data management framework, setting the vision, policies, practices, and standards for data across the organization. You will design data pipelines, ensuring data systems are scalable, interoperable, and manageable. This role involves designing database solutions, overseeing data storage and maintenance, and implementing data privacy policies. You will collaborate with system designers, developers, and data scientists to implement data strategies and meet the needs of complex data analytics. Reporting to the Director of Data Practice, this remote position requires strong knowledge of database systems, data mining, and various database technologies.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
- Familiarity with various database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark), and cloud services (AWS, Azure)
- Expertise in data modeling and design tools
- Deep knowledge of database design and structures, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Expertise in data management technologies and a broad understanding of big data solutions
- Familiarity with tools and languages like SQL, UML (Unified Modeling Language), XML, and enterprise architecture frameworks
- 4+ years of experience in the data architecture field
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM program
Responsibilities
- Design and create the overall data architecture (databases, large scale processing systems)
- Define how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems
- Ensure the data strategies and architectures are in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Work with business executives to ensure the data architecture aligns with business requirements
- Ensure that data flows efficiently through the pipelines, making it usable for further analysis and reporting
- Implement, maintain, and update data management tools and systems
- Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, reports and perform database maintenance tasks
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, helping to ensure that the organization's data infrastructure meets the requirements of complex data analytics
