Requirements

  • 12-15 Years of a solid understanding of cloud and data architecture and the data flows between systems
  • 8+ years of major projects focused on cloud and data architecture, master data management, data federation, ETL, security, quality, and related initiatives
  • Experience with database development and troubleshooting skills and ability to work closely across multiple teams and vendors to ensure successful releases and enterprise scale data migration
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and managing enterprise-level databases using relational databases (Oracle/Postgres)
  • Expert in data modeling experience (Conceptual, Logical, Physical/ERD) using proven techniques and modern tools
  • Experience migrating data from On-prem to cloud
  • Developing a target state data vision and supporting realization by leading development activities in conjunction with various application development teams to achieve objectives
  • Data leadership, stakeholder engagement and management by applying excellent oral communications, solid presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience implementing large-scale solutions that empower business data and enterprise data integration using one or more major RDBMS platforms such as (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (such as AWS RDS, etc.)
  • Applying data engineering in a large environment by assessing the current state, performing requirements gathering, and producing analyses in multiple dimensions for disparate consumers
  • Developing semantic layers and models in support of business intelligence and data analytics (BI and DW support)

Responsibilities

  • Own the data migration process throughout the entire project implementation lifecycle
  • Ensure the migration of data and/or data transformation meets the agreed-upon business requirements
  • Provide level-of-effort estimates for solutions around data migration and/or data transformation
  • Coordinate and review business process analyses, needs assessment, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align IT solutions with enterprise business initiatives
  • Develop database migration strategy and solution for On-prem to cloud data migration from multiple systems to one system
  • Migrate data from structured databases (source) to a combination of structured, semi-structured and unstructured databases (target) for a live system
  • Orient, coordinate training, assign, and check the work of team members
  • Direct team members around project related tasks and ensure they follow best practices
  • Organize the organization’s data management, security, and migration initiatives
  • Examine the organization’s current data management systems and identify opportunities to enhance performance and prepare for growth
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture team and assist in development of policies for standardizing systems, development tools and security practices
  • Design, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex legacy applications
  • Identify requirements, research options, design, and implement solutions at a leadership level for the application included in the portfolio
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, and risk assessments
