Requirements

• Experience working with research data in biological sciences or related fields
• Well versed in commonly used research tools and analysis software (like RStudio, MatLab etc.)
• Strong computer skills (MS Office or equivalent open source alternatives, Google Suite, Text Editor, and so on)
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills, as well as the ability to identify and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high-quality results
• Excellent time management and organizational skills. The data curator should be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Be a team player and work well with other curators
• High level of professionalism focused on providing excellent customer service to the authors

Responsibilities

• Evaluate metadata and data files to comply with prescribed guidelines
• Liaise with authors to ensure datasets comply with data-sharing standards
• Ensure the highest standards of quality of the research data submitted
• Track progress across all curation stages
• Work with the curation team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
• Participate in curation triage meetings with the curation team
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and assist with implementation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in any capacity in scholarly publishing would be beneficial
