Summary
Join Dataplace, a Polish-Portuguese startup in geoanalytics and machine learning, as a Data Engineer! We help major retail, media, FMCG, and banking companies make strategic business decisions using data from millions of mobile users. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, manage data warehouses, work with geospatial data using Apache Sedona, and implement cloud solutions on AWS. Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working with large datasets and Big Data tools (PySpark, Databricks)
- Proficient knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
- Knowledge of tools and technologies for processing geospatial data (e.g., Apache Sedona)
- Experience working with AWS (S3, IAM, EC2, RDS)
- Ability to optimize and scale data pipelines and ensure high-quality information processing
- Ability to assess data quality and clean it from errors
- Proactive attitude, initiative, and business approach
- Independence, commitment, and a sense of responsibility for the data delivered
- Knowledge of English allowing for fluent communication (spoken and written)
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using tools such as PySpark, Databricks, and SQL
- Manage and optimize data warehouses on platforms such as Snowflake and AWS S3
- Work with geospatial data and process it using Apache Sedona
- Implement cloud solutions for processing large geospatial datasets on the AWS platform
- Improve ETL processes and ensure data quality and security
- Participate in R&D – participate in research work on the development of our spatial data processing technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in optimizing ETL processes and in managing and monitoring Big Data systems
- Knowledge of other geospatial tools and experience with spatial data
