Data Engineer

Join Dataplace, a Polish-Portuguese startup in geoanalytics and machine learning, as a Data Engineer! You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, manage data warehouses, work with geospatial data using Apache Sedona, and implement cloud solutions on AWS. Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with large datasets and Big Data tools (PySpark, Databricks)
• Proficient knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
• Knowledge of tools and technologies for processing geospatial data (e.g., Apache Sedona)
• Experience working with AWS (S3, IAM, EC2, RDS)
• Ability to optimize and scale data pipelines and ensure high-quality information processing
• Ability to assess data quality and clean it from errors
• Proactive attitude, initiative, and business approach
• Independence, commitment, and a sense of responsibility for the data delivered
• Knowledge of English allowing for fluent communication (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using tools such as PySpark, Databricks, and SQL
• Manage and optimize data warehouses on platforms such as Snowflake and AWS S3
• Work with geospatial data and process it using Apache Sedona
• Implement cloud solutions for processing large geospatial datasets on the AWS platform
• Improve ETL processes and ensure data quality and security
• Participate in R&D – participate in research work on the development of our spatial data processing technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in optimizing ETL processes and in managing and monitoring Big Data systems
• Knowledge of other geospatial tools and experience with spatial data
