Data Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Mid Data Engineer and design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position is based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. You will be responsible for building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data quality and accessibility, and maintaining data models. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, extensive software development experience, professional English skills, and 3+ years of experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +3 years of experience
• Strong in SQL and at least one language like Python or Scala
• Experience with data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, PySpark)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that move and transform data across systems
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance in batch and/or streaming pipelines
• Maintain data models and ensure data is accessible and reliable for downstream teams
