Remote Data Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Data Manager role in GiveDirectly's Central Data team, working remotely to build and maintain data pipelines, tools, and dashboards. The candidate should have Python, SQL, and Spark expertise, along with critical thinking, analytical approach, entrepreneurial mindset, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines and tools that reduce the time and risk associated with monthly financial reporting and other finance processes
• Build datasets and dashboards that make financial data more transparent, actionable, and accurate
• Increase data available for analysis and ML models by ingesting new data sources
• Increase speed of development, reduce infrastructure failures and cost

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive experience with Databricks preferred; experience with Tableau is a plus
