Data Engineer

Summary
Join JumpCloud's data engineering team as a Software Engineer and help build and maintain data pipelines and data lakes using big data technologies. You will develop services to make data accessible and usable for other teams, creating the backbone of JumpCloud's Data Platform. This remote role, based in India, requires 2-5 years of programming experience (Golang, Python, Java, NodeJS), 1-3 years of cloud technology experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), and 2-5 years of experience building enterprise applications. Experience with Kafka, ksql, Kafka Connect, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ELK is necessary, along with advanced RESTful API experience. JumpCloud values a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of programming experience in Golang, Python, Java, NodeJS etc
- 1-3 years of experience using cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- 2-5 years of professional experience building enterprise applications
- Experience with technologies like: kafka, ksql, kafka connect, posgresql, mongoDB, ELK
- Advanced experience working with and building RESTful APIs
- Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies, languages, and frameworks (we will test your skills with a take home exercise)
- Solid Git experience
- Comfortable with Linux or OSX as a desktop development environment
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes using big data technologies and develop services to make data available and usable to other teams
- The systems you will help build will become the backbone of the JumpCloud Data Platform
Preferred Qualifications
- Database experience is a plus, including relational and non-relational databases
- Strong team player that wants to win together

- Data operations experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and/or Salt
