Summary

Requirements

  • Be proficient in Python
  • Have advanced knowledge of geospatial concepts, terms, libraries, and techniques (PostGIS, GDAL, and shapely should already be well-loved friends)
  • Have 2+ years of experience working on geospatial problems
  • Be self-directed and have a track record of working through challenges to reach success

Responsibilities

  • Develop a distinct profile of every acre of land across millions of properties in the contiguous United States
  • Utilize a variety of remote satellite imagery and open-source tools and data to come up with the key characteristics of any given parcel of land
  • Identify the most appropriate programs in the NCX catalog for every landowner to find new revenue streams for their land while taking nature-positive action like tree planting or harvest deferral
  • Apply expertise to help every other team at NCX, from Marketing and Product to Business Development and Platform Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience in forestry, ecology, or other earth sciences
  • Have experience building and maintaining large data pipelines
  • Have 5+ years of experience working on geospatial problems
