Summary
Join Sidecar Health, a company redefining health insurance, as a Data Engineer. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, pipelines, and reporting capabilities. Using cutting-edge tools and technologies, you'll manage and transform data, deliver actionable insights, and support key business initiatives. Collaborating across teams, you'll improve operational efficiency and drive data-driven decision-making. This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 1+ years of relevant experience. California residents only.
Requirements
- Masterβs degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in a related role, such as Data Engineer or Software Engineer
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling, with the ability to write complex SQL statements using joins and window functions
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes, real-time and batch data processing, and integrating data from multiple sources and formats (e.g., JSON, XML, CSV)
- Familiarity with Spark, Athena, Docker, and version control systems like GIT
- Knowledge of secure, scalable, cloud-based architectures compliant with HIPAA or PCI
- Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau or ThoughtSpot
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable software solutions
Responsibilities
- Use SQL and Python on AWS infrastructure to build ETL jobs and data pipelines that integrate data from various internal and external sources into Snowflake Data Warehouse
- Leverage DBT (Data Build Tool) to transform data, consolidate records, delete duplicates, and create clean, formatted data models
- Utilize AWS technologies such as S3, SES, Transfer Family, and Secrets Manager to send reports and support business teams and partners
- Containerize and orchestrate data pipelines using Docker and Airflow, while developing monitoring and alerting systems
- Perform data quality checks, cleanup, and ensure the reliability of data stored in the data warehouse
- Develop reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau and ThoughtSpot to deliver actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key metrics
- Engage in agile development activities, including sprint planning, peer reviews, daily standups, product demos, and sprint retrospectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of machine learning features, Tableau server architecture, and Airflow
- Experience working in agile development environments
