Data Engineer in Turkey

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer at Trendyol, a dynamic and growing e-commerce company with a strong focus on technology and positive impact. The role involves coding new features and improving the platform experience while working with a diverse international team.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, Mathematics, or related Information Technologies
• 2 - 5 years experience in related areas
• Hands-on experience in building data processing applications with Spark or Flink
• Experience in open-source data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, etc.)
• Strong software engineering skills
• Hands-on with Scala/Java programming
• Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies, data modeling and tradeoffs
• Experience with columnar, row-based, and distributed databases
• Experience building RESTful APIs

Responsibilities

• Code new features and improve existing platform to exalt Trendyol platform experience and scale
• Continuously improve yourself with team members, learning new technologies and acquiring new skills
• Participate in planning meetings, estimate tasks, do code reviews, and code in pairs

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of stream processing is a plus
• Knowledge of functional programming is a plus
