Summary

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering
- Strong understanding of data lake, data warehousing, data modeling
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong experience with Python
- Experience with healthcare data
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Columnar databases
- Knowledge of data processing and ETL tools such as Airflow or Talend, and understand the tradeoffs of them
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS (or Google Cloud, or Azure)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously, as well as being part of a collaborative team
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to meet business needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data quality
- Implement scalable data storage and processing systems capable of handling large datasets
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting data from various sources and ensuring proper data formatting for analysis
- Create and maintain data models, dictionaries, and metadata
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and ensure alignment with data systems
- Document data systems, processes, and procedures
- Implement data quality control processes to validate and clean data prior to analysis
- Design and implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data privacy
- Optimize data systems for performance and scalability to support organizational growth
- Stay updated with the latest tools and technologies in data engineering to meet the organization's evolving data requirements
