Summary

The job is for a Data Engineering Lead at Further, a data-focused company. The role requires 5+ years of experience in team environments, proficiency in multiple programming languages, experience with cloud data warehouses, pipeline management tools, database design, and analytical reporting tools. The responsibilities include aligning to project goals, communicating with clients, participating in business development activities, building client relationships, sharing knowledge within the team, mentoring, and architecting cloud data warehouses. The first-year objectives are to understand all cloud solutions, deliver impactful solutions, and identify opportunities for additional value.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in a team environment creating data/cloud solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple programming languages such as SQL, Python, Scala, and R
  • Deep experience working in one or more cloud data warehouses, preferably Google Cloud and BigQuery
  • Utilized pipeline and workflow management tools for data processing purposes (i.e. Airflow, Cloud Composer, Databricks)
  • Working experience designing and architecting SQL and noSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Bigtable, Spanner)
  • Supported analytical reporting and/or data visualization tools, preferably Looker
  • Understanding of Google Cloud AI and ML capabilities such as BQML and Vertex AI
  • Google Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the alignment to scope, deliverables, and adherence to agreed-upon timelines to ensure the team is achieving business impact goals related to data-centric projects
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients in both good and challenging situations
  • Actively participate in business development activities, including client pitches, and estimating work
  • Create trusted partnerships with clients in order to consistently extend and expand our business relationships
  • Develop sustainable solutions to share knowledge and experiences within the team
  • Build the expertise of our team through mentoring, training, and sharing best practices
  • Architect and execute cloud data warehouses and data workflows for enterprise customers
