Join Data Meaning, a leading Business Intelligence and Data Analytics consulting firm, as an Azure Purview Data Catalog Engineer. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related fields
  • Proficiency in Azure Purview, including implementation and optimization
  • Strong understanding of metadata concepts, data lineage, and classification
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g., Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Power BI)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results in a remote setup
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and maintain Azure Purview for comprehensive data cataloging and governance
  • Develop and manage metadata, data lineage, and classification policies to ensure data integrity and discoverability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define standards, and design effective data catalog solutions
  • Work closely with stakeholders in the education sector to align data governance initiatives with industry-specific needs
  • Optimize Azure Purview for integration with other Microsoft Azure tools, including Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, and Power BI
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data catalog standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Monitor and improve the performance of the Azure Purview environment, ensuring scalability and reliability
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on using and benefiting from the data catalog effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience in data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., DAMA, DCAM, GDPR, FERPA, LGPD)
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Certification in Microsoft Azure or related tools
  • Relevant certifications such as CDMP and/or DAMA
  • Experience in designing data governance programs for large enterprises
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau)
