Summary

Join Smartsheet's growing EMEA engineering team as a Software Engineer! We offer opportunities to work remotely in the UK and contribute to the entire development lifecycle, from concept to release. You'll participate in architecture discussions, implement new features, maintain APIs, and ensure quality. We're looking for engineers with experience in various languages (Golang, Java, C, Node.js) and familiarity with microservices. A BSc or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required, along with eligibility to work in the UK. Requirements

  • Experience with one of Golang, Java, C or a C-style language, or Node.js
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js and CSS pre-processors (front-end engineers)
  • Experience with Object Oriented design
  • Familiarity of Microservice Architecture
  • Experience building scalable, high availability applications
  • BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
  • Participate in system architecture discussions
  • Implement new features and improve the ones we have already built
  • Maintain existing service API and develop new ones
  • Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution
  • Interact with systems engineers to debug infrastructure problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Linux system command line
  • Experience with DynamoDB and other non relational databases
  • Experience with relational databases like MySQL
  • Experience with AWS, and/or AWS qualifications (AWS Developer, AWS Solution Architect)
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with service orchestration tools e.g. k8s, HashiCorp
  • Experience with linux debugging commands like tcpdump and strace
