Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in data integration with formats like FHIR, HL7, and SQL databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Azure)
  • Strong foundation in computer science principles: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
  • Experience with full-stack development, Agile frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Automated Testing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership and delegating tasks effectively
  • Effective communicator with strong skills in database architecture, administration, and security

Responsibilities

  • Implement data integration and exchange using formats like FHIR, HL7, and CSV, incorporating data into databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and secure Oracle Active Data Guard and other mirroring technologies
  • Create and evaluate data mappings for migrations between Oracle Health, CDW, VistA, Millennium, and Cloud Databases
  • Integrate data from multiple sources using healthcare standards (e.g., DICOM, SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD9/10, USCDI)
  • Write SQL queries, develop Conceptual Data Models, and enhance database architectures to support VA enterprise standards
  • Develop high availability and Disaster Recovery Architectures, adhering to security best practices
  • Automate processes using tools like Microsoft Visual Studio, SSIS, and Powershell; interpret Oracle Healthโ€™s Data model for ingestion and API construction
  • Create user and technical documentation, and report data integration activities in the Weekly Progress Report

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired
  • Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired
  • Ability to obtain a Government clearance
