Summary
Join BenchSci's Therapeutic Data Intelligence team as a Data Intelligence Scientist! Reporting to the Customer Therapeutics Lead, you will collaborate with various teams to empower client success through data-driven insights. Your responsibilities include analyzing customer and internal datasets, identifying data gaps, refining data quality, and leveraging insights to guide strategic decision-making. You will work with cross-functional partners to improve data solutions and support the integration of new data sources. This role is crucial for supporting customers in their therapeutic discovery. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to transforming data into actionable intelligence.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R) with a demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data quality assessment, or data integration, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong understanding of therapeutic areas, therapeutic data intelligence, or related scientific data processes in the biological sciences
- Experience with data curation, quality control, and establishing best practices for data integrity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail
- High level of organization, time management, project management, and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer data and internal datasets to identify gaps, trends, and quality issues
- Translate these findings into actionable insights that support therapeutic discovery and address unmet client needs
- Conduct routine data quality assessments across Therapeutic Areas (TAs) and proactively identify areas for improvement
- Work with internal teams to set and maintain high standards for data quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to incorporate customer-derived insights into the data foundations, improving the relevance and depth of data solutions for customer accounts
- Support the integration of new data sources, ensuring that data quality and coverage meet therapeutic area needs
- Participate in exploratory and proactive projects focused on addressing data gaps and bolstering the data roadmap
- Work closely with other teams to provide visibility into data insights, helping to drive proactive, data-driven decisions
- Conduct assessments at the therapeutic area level to evaluate BenchSciβs data health and coverage, providing recommendations to guide roadmap development and strategic rollout plans
