Requirements

- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking

Responsibilities
- Conduct research, testing, and development tasks for Generative AI initiatives
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, including data acquisition, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis
- Assist in applying statistical modeling and optimization techniques tailored to solving Generative AI challenges
- Analyze and interpret test results, transforming them into actionable insights that drive the development of Generative AI products
- Provide comprehensive documentation of methodologies, modeling approaches, assumptions, and processes for future reference and reproducibility

Job description
SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Data Science Intern will play a pivotal role within our innovative Data Science team, actively contributing to cutting-edge Generative AI projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced AI research, coding, and model testing. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to apply their skills in working with large language models, transformers, and modern data science tools.
WHAT THIS INVOLVES
- Conduct research, testing, and development tasks for Generative AI initiatives, working closely with senior team members.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, including data acquisition, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis.
- Assist in applying statistical modeling and optimization techniques tailored to solving Generative AI challenges, primarily using Python, under the guidance of senior data scientists.
- Analyze and interpret test results, transforming them into actionable insights that drive the development of Generative AI products.
- Provide comprehensive documentation of methodologies, modeling approaches, assumptions, and processes for future reference and reproducibility.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Currently in the final year of a university degree / pursuing a postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of complex algorithms and their applications.
- Proficient in Python for prototyping and testing analytical concepts.
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Transformers is a plus (e.g., Hugging Face, AutoTrain, PyTorch, PyG, OpenAI, or other relevant APIs).
- Solid foundation in probability theory and statistics, with knowledge of basic data science concepts, metrics, and algorithms. Familiarity with transformers is a bonus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Participation in Kaggle challenges, presentations at meetups, maintaining a data science-related blog or GitHub page, or involvement in data science volunteer work is advantageous.
- Available to start soon or immediately, with the ability to commit for at least 6 months
- Part-time internships will also be considered
