Summary
Join Harbor Health's growing team as a Data Scientist in Austin, TX! We're a multi-specialty clinic group building a fully integrated system connecting care to a better payment model. You'll collaborate with various teams to develop and deliver data-driven solutions supporting our unique care model. This role involves creating and improving foundational models, integrating machine learning models into applications, and designing analysis techniques for large-scale health data. You'll work with diverse data sources, assist with complex analysis requests, and communicate findings to leadership. This is a US-based remote role with occasional travel.
Requirements
- Master's degree in applied mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or related field with 2+ years of experience OR bachelorβs degree in one of those fields with 3+ years of experience
- Proven track record of designing and building statistical and machine learning models to solve complex problems
- Proficiency in SQL and Python β including Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other standard data science libraries
- Experience working in a cloud computing environment such as AWS, GCP, or similar
- Experience working with healthcare claims and electronic health record data
- Ability to engage business leaders to gain deep understanding of the problems to be solved and desired outcomes and collaborate with others to create a solution
- Open mind and desire to collaborate with others, consider different ideas, accept feedback, and find common ground on the best path forward
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including data visualization and the ability to clearly communicate complex findings to leaders in other departments
- Attention to detail and ability to manage schedules and deadlines independently
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the data science team to create and improve foundational models
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate machine learning models into production applications
- Design and develop analysis techniques to uncover patterns and anomalies in large-scale health data
- Integrate data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and updating as needed
- Assist with complex analysis requests from senior leadership or project teams
