Data Scientist

Summary

Join MMS, a leading data-focused CRO, as a Data Scientist and leverage your expertise to lead the design and development of advanced Power BI reports and dashboards. You will mentor others, advise on industry trends, and develop training materials. This role requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in data science and proficiency in Power BI, data modeling, and DAX. A college degree in a related field is required, with a Master's or PhD preferred. You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure data security, and troubleshoot reports. Requirements

• College graduate in Data Science or similar discipline, or related experience, Masters or PhD preferred
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Data Science or similar field required
• Extensive experience in developing and optimizing complex Power BI solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability
• Ability to implement drill-down functionalities and cross-page slicers for comprehensive data exploration across multiple dashboard layers
• Proficient in connecting and extracting data from various data sources, ensuring seamless data flow into Power BI
• Advanced expertise in data modeling, including creating semantic models, managing relationships, and structuring facts and dimensions
• Ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights through effective dashboard design and intuitive data visualization
• Proficient in DAX for creating measures and calculated columns, enabling dynamic and insightful data analysis

Responsibilities

• Independently maintain a strong understanding of regulations and guidance as they pertain to data centric deliverables
• Mentors others and advises on MMS on industry trends and technologies
• Lead the design and development of advanced Power BI reports and dashboards
• Strong understanding of new methods, tools, and solutions to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders and teams
• Develop and deliver training for internal and external stakeholders regarding Data Science processes and deliverables
• Ability to develop Power BI solutions that pull data from multiple data sources (internal and external)
• Provide guidance on data modeling and DAX calculations
• Work with customers to demonstrate capabilities and gather requirements
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements
• Ensure data security and compliance
• Troubleshoot and optimize Power BI reports
• Prepare, correct, modify, and analyze data sets using complex analytic techniques
• Strong experience mentoring others, both technical and non-technical, toward a better understanding of data science methodologies and results
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred experience with leading or coordinating development of a data analytics platform or application
• Strong SQL skills for complex data querying, manipulation, and optimization
• Skilled in designing dynamic and interactive visualizations, incorporating drilldowns, cross-page slicers, and custom visual interactions
• Ability to anticipate and effectively resolve potential problems with client demands
• Demonstrates managerial skills and experience
• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Hands-on experience with clinical trial and pharmaceutical development preferred
• Good communication skills and willingness to work with others to clearly understand needs and solve problems
