Summary

Join our team as a Data Scientist working remotely from Santiago de Chile. Analyze and model data for mineral extraction and processing optimization, risk management, and predicting variables like mineral quality and productivity. Identify improvement opportunities by analyzing various data sources (operations, sensors, geology) to enhance the efficiency, safety, and profitability of mining operations.

Requirements

• +3 years in the role
• At least 1 year of relevant data analysis experience in the mining industry, with knowledge of mineral extraction, processing, and resource management processes
• Solid experience in data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, exploratory analysis, and data modeling
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and/or R for data analysis and model development
• Advanced SQL skills for database manipulation and querying
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), with a desired certification
• Familiarity with data analysis tools, visualization software, geological modeling software, and mining data management systems

Responsibilities

• Analyze and model data for mineral extraction and processing optimization
• Develop predictive and machine learning models for optimizing mineral extraction, resource management, risk analysis, and variable prediction (e.g., mineral quality and productivity)
• Identify improvement opportunities by analyzing data from various sources (operations, sensors, geology) to enhance the efficiency, safety, and profitability of mining operations
• Develop practical solutions based on data insights to improve operational processes and strategic decision-making
• Communicate results clearly and concisely to management, engineering, and operations teams using visualizations and simple language for easy understanding of insights
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary client teams to ensure successful implementation of data-driven solutions
