Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Team Lead roles
- Proven experience in a data engineering leadership role
- Strong proficiency in dbt and SQL
- Experience with Apache Airflow and Python
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka is a plus
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Experience with sprint planning, roadmap estimations, and agile methodologies
- Strong focus on quality and delivering excellent results
- Ability to conduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members
- Hands-on experience with data engineering tasks and a willingness to stay technically involved
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer) are a plus
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA) to track progress and ensure timely delivery of projects
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
- Oversee the development and implementation of data solutions using dbt and SQL
- Participate in sprint planning, roadmap estimations, and approvals to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Ensure the team delivers high-quality, accurate, and timely data solutions
- Conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards and best practices
- Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure successful project delivery
- Remain hands-on with technical tasks and provide guidance and support to team members
- Drive initiatives to improve processes, tools, and methodologies
- Serve as a point of contact for support within the organization, addressing queries and issues related to data engineering
- Engage with various departments to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring that data solutions meet their needs
- Present technical solutions and updates to senior management and other stakeholders
- Identify and propose opportunities for leveraging new technologies and methodologies to improve data engineering practices
- Contribute to the long-term data strategy of the company
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in working with cloud platforms
