Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration, design, and optimization
  • 2+ years experience in AWS Redshift, Vertica or other analytics cloud databases
  • Proficient with SQL with experience with ETL tools and processes; strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Must possess or be eligible for a SECRET clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support the Military Health System (MHS) by managing, optimize, and maintain databases critical to healthcare analytics, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for enterprise-wide decision-making
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases to support healthcare analytics and reporting
  • Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability
  • Develop and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines for data integration
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring data accuracy and security
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define database requirements and implement solutions
  • Maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures
  • Support data governance efforts, including metadata management and compliance with security standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Defense Department Data Sources
  • Experience in healthcare data management
