Database Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

Join Wrike's Database Infrastructure Engineering team as a PostgreSQL expert. You will design, manage, and optimize internal database systems, leveraging your cloud and data center infrastructure skills. Responsibilities include defining tasks, guiding others, and proposing infrastructure improvements. You'll work on high-impact projects involving Kafka, internal database management systems, and command and control systems. The team consists of 14 individuals across Prague, Cyprus, and Tallinn. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a core development team of 250+ engineers within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Requirements

• Have advanced experience in designing, managing, and optimizing database management systems based on PostgreSQL
• Have advanced knowledge in at least two of the following areas, intermediate knowledge of the rest: Data networks, Security, Databases, Cloud providers, Process automation, Containerised application management
• Have advanced Linux administration skills with experience in maintaining highly available infrastructure for web application stack
• Have sufficient scripting skills in Python/Bash or other scripting languages
• Have Upper Intermediate English skills

Responsibilities

• Manage the Wrike product infrastructure with a focus on data infrastructure
• Design reliable solutions to ensure a product uptime SLA of 99.99%
• Work with GCP and other providers in the IaC paradigm
• Implement and support new infrastructure services
• Actively participate in incident response and management, including on-call duties
• Develop and maintain professional connections within and outside of the team
• Drive end-to-end completion of significant projects, supported by senior team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Have advanced experience running Kubernetes platform
• Have advanced experience with any Cloud Provider management using IAC (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Have a strong understanding of Linux fundamentals: security principles, hardware, troubleshooting, etc
• Have monitoring experience with Zabbix, Grafana or Prometheus
• Have advanced experience with any of System Configuration Management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Salt etc.)
