Database Software Engineer

Summary

The job description is for a position in Zilliz, a fast-growing startup developing vector databases. The role involves participating in the development of database kernels and distribution systems, as well as search engine teams. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above, major in computer science or relative majors
• Have a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, and be proficient in GO/C++

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of database kernels and distribution system
• Design and build a hyper-scale, highly reliable, and easy-to-use AI infrastructure
• Participate in the design, implementation, and optimization of the vector database core engine
• Participate in the design and prototype verification of vector retrieval algorithms to build industry-leading vector indexing algorithm capabilities
• Support algorithm performance optimization on new hardware GPU

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in distributed system development and research is preferred
• Good command of written and spoken English is preferred
• Familiarity with vector retrieval or vector similarity algorithms (e.g. Faiss / HNSW / DiskANN / ScaNN etc.)
• Experience in high-performance computing (familiarity with hardware features such as SSDs and GPUs; Programmers who are familiar with GPUs, CUDAs)
