Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (equivalent practical experience will be considered)
- 2-6 years of experience designing digital products, with demonstrated work on technical or enterprise software
- Portfolio showcasing ability to simplify complex technical concepts through thoughtful design
- Experience designing systems for access control, resource management, or data governance
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch
- Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing techniques
- Knowledge of design systems and component libraries
- Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, and customer success professionals to identify user needs and create elegant solutions for infrastructure management
- This process begins with conducting user research to understand the workflows, pain points, and mental models of digital engineering specialists
- Translate these insights into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that address complex challenges while maintaining simplicity and usability
- Creating intuitive visualizations is central to this role
- Design interfaces that represent complex workflows, relationships, permission models, understand system status and make informed decisions
- This includes designing dashboards, configuration interfaces, and workflow experiences that balance power with accessibility
- You will need to effectively present technical concepts through thoughtful information architecture and visual design
- Working closely with engineering teams, you will ensure your designs are implemented with fidelity
- This involves creating detailed specifications, collaborating during development, and validating the final product against design intentions
- You will also contribute to our design system, creating reusable patterns and components specific to infrastructure workflows that promote consistency and accelerate development
- Throughout the product development cycle, you will conduct usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate based on real user feedback
- This requires synthesizing feedback from technical and non-technical users alike to create experiences that serve diverse audiences
- You will advocate for user needs while balancing technical constraints and business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), security tools, or data management solutions highly valued
- Experience with data visualization techniques advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of specific infrastructure technologies (AWS services, security protocols, data platforms like Snowflake) beneficial
- Exceptional interaction design skills with focus on creating intuitive user flows for complex applications
- Strong visual design abilities with attention to detail and consistency across interfaces
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities to address challenging user experience problems in technical environments
- Excellent communication skills for articulating design decisions to diverse stakeholders
